Huge milestone in the life of WHC: the company has acquired a majority stake in one of the leading HR service providers of the Adriatic region

The growth of our company has reached a huge milestone with the acquisition of the majority stake in one of the leading HR service providers of the Adriatic region, namely Heads Adriatic group of companies. Thus, WHC Group now provides complex HR services in a total of ten countries, including Hungary. As a result of the acquisition, our company becomes one of the largest players of the industry in Central Europe.

Our company has started its operation in 1990, in Zalaegerszeg, and thanks to its continuous growth and development for more than three decades, for today WHC Group has become one of the largest Hungarian-owned HR service providers in Hungary. Besides our domestic activities, we have also been building an active foreign market presence for years, so besides our network of eleven regional offices in Hungary, we are operating our own subsidiaries and local branches in Austria, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine.

Entering new markets

Within the framework of the current transaction, WHC Group has acquired the majority stake in one of the leading HR service providers of the Adriatic region, in Heads Adriatic. Thanks to the deal, the international development of our company gains a huge boost as we enter five new regional markets: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Slovenia.

“WHC’s international expansion, which began years ago, was primarily driven by changes in the region’s labour market, which allowed the company to expand both its recruitment and service areas. The acquisition of Heads Adriatic, being a significant milestone in the life of our company, fits into this international expansion strategic process, thanks to which WHC Group can be now considered as one of the largest HR service providers in Central Europe,” said Viktor Göltl, CEO of WHC Group in connection with the transaction.

New dimensions open up

The acquisition of Heads Adriatic opens the door to several new opportunities for our group of companies in the international scene, which offer significant exploitable potential both for our corporate partners and on the recruitment side as well. In the Central and Eastern European region, the movement of labour force is already a common process, so the more countries our company is present in, the more opportunities we have to serve the needs and follow labour market processes.

“By utilising the synergies and unifying the resources between the two companies, we will be able to serve our international partners even more widely, while also providing more job opportunities for the employees, as our recruitment area expands with five more countries. Besides that, we will be able to serve the labour-force needs of Hungarian companies and the investments coming to Central Europe from human resources side even more efficiently,” detailed the potential in the expansion Péter Berta, CEO of WHC Group.

“Thanks to the cooperation between our company and Heads Adriatic, we can unify our resources, share the know-how and exchange experiences, which will be extremely useful as well, allowing us to participate in international tenders with improved chances. Besides that, we can provide exciting and challenging international career opportunities for the colleagues of both companies,” added Viktor Göltl.

Strong presence in the Adriatic region

Heads Adriatic, founded 20 years ago, is present in a total of six countries in the Adriatic region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia), in which it operates a total of 15 offices. The group of companies has long been a prominent market player in the Adriatic region: a well-established brand, a favoured and reliable partner for companies in the region.

The current step of WHC Group’s international expansion, as well as its successful operation in the Adriatic region, is also supported by the enlargement plans of the European Union, the EU accession aspirations of Serbia, and the opening processes of the Hungarian labour market. In Slovenia, we have to deal with a developed market similar to Austria, the emerging economy of Serbia has outstanding potential, and Croatia can add a new colour to our company’s portfolio due to the opportunities offered by tourism.

6,500 people employed on lease, 500 own internal co-workers

The scope of activity of WHC Group and Heads Adriatic has tremendous synergies. Both companies provide services primarily in the field of temporary employment and recruitment, besides that, student employment, HR outsourcing and payroll accounting belong to their main services. Thanks to the acquisition, the joint employment of the two companies amounts to 6,500 employees on lease, and 500 internal employees.

“During the acquisition, it was crucial to get to know Heads Adriatic, the company with which we are building our future. For us, it is not just a transaction: it is a commitment. WHC Group and Heads Adriatic complement each other perfectly and we believe that the same values, visions and goals of the two companies will be the engine of our common future success,” concluded the CEOs of the company on the acquisition.
